Acrylic on Canvas Paintings
With a new studio, I have been painting a lot of acrylic on canvas pieces and getting to work in a bit larger of a format than resin art. Here is a new fish piece, one of the first canvas paintings I have done in years.

Shark and Tuna Sculptures
These are shaped out of surfboard foam by Carl Olsen. The shaped foam is fiberglassed and ready to paint. Once painted the sculpture gets a Hot Coat (clear layer of resin) this then gets sanded and another layer of resin before sanded then polished to shine.

Here is a 6' Tiger Shark

Lone Fisherman
Just finished up this lone fisherman piece. This character appeared first in a large group of paintings with a under the sea theme and this little fella on top of the water fishing down. A couple years later we painted it on a large fishing warehouse in Baja, and now I just got inspired to nice new original resin piece with him on it.

Mexico Murals 2016
So every year I head down to my favorite little town in Baja California for some surfing and mural painting. It is great because if there is a wall that I want to paint, the owner of the wall is usually on the other side and more than happy to allow for some art to be painted. I love it. Kids will walk by and get curious as to what we are doing and we always pass them a brush and get them involved. Here are a couple murals we did this year...
We painted these two jelly fish in the middle of the day. It was so hot we must have sweated out gallons of water.
This Mural here was in Sayuilita Mexico. It was on a elementary school and had about 20 fish painted down the wall. It was a little nerve racking going walking into the school and asking permission with my broken spanish and a doodle of the idea on a piece of cardboard. After about 10 min of asking around we finally got permission and went to work. It was such a great experience having the little kids helping and how stoked the parents were that us gringos were doing something nice for the school.
This fish was painted at my favorite cantina in Baja, right above a perfect wave. This little girl Lorenza is 4 years old and already spends her days surfing perfect waves and painting all day on the beach. She's living the dream :)
